Suitability is determined by the physician. A virtual encounter is not a substitute for a needed examination, access to relevant records or a designated practitioner.

What the physician may need

• Service Canada requirements
• Relevant period of incapacity
• Appropriate authorized practitioner

Do not send records or health information through the public partnership form.

Important limits

• Service Canada decides the benefit.
• Coverage and any certificate fee must be checked.
• EI does not reimburse a practitioner’s certificate fee. A medically necessary insured assessment remains separate.

An individual physician-approved quote, only after coverage and payer review.

Check the provincial plan, any employer or insurer payment, program-specific rules and tax treatment. Assessment and documentation must not be double-billed or bundled to conceal insured care.
