Fees and coverage

No charging for services paid by another source. Administrative fees must be disclosed, reasonable and time-based; explain insured alternatives.

Confirm the actual document, insured assessment, public-plan eligibility and any other payer. No patient fee is approved simply by selecting a province.

Physician authority and care

Validate registration, including Atlantic Registry eligibility where applicable, and continuity arrangements.

Verify the clinician’s current registration, identity, competence and patient-location rules. Plan for examination, follow-up and local urgent care when needed.

Workplace documentation

Note requests generally require more than five consecutive working days of illness or injury, or at least two other short absences in the preceding 12 months. Check the applicable Act.
