Provincial & territorial guidance

Newfoundland and Labrador

Local documentation considerations for MCP and CPSNL.

Fees and coverage

Only charge where MCP or another payer does not cover the service. Reasonable fees, hardship consideration and direct advance notice are expected.

Confirm the actual document, insured assessment, public-plan eligibility and any other payer. No patient fee is approved simply by selecting a province.

Physician authority and care

Confirm current CPSNL registration or a documented exemption and virtual-care arrangements.

Verify the clinician’s current registration, identity, competence and patient-location rules. Plan for examination, follow-up and local urgent care when needed.

Workplace documentation

Do not assume every absence needs a note. Check applicable employment standards, workplace agreements and the specific purpose. Federal workplace rules can apply regardless of province.
